Bowling

This year I tried something new. I joined a bowling league. I joined not knowing how serious some people really are about this sport. I just wanted to do something different and have fun. That I did. I even learned somethings while I was at it.

1. You do not aim at the pins, you aim at the arrows, and not usually the middle one. I now aim at the third arrow from the right.

2. When you bowl in a league you have to bowl 3 games. Talk about tiring. I thought I would never survive the first night. My hand was so tired.

3. League bowling means you alternate between two lanes. Weird, at first, now I like it.

4. If your ball crosses the head pin and you get a strike it's called a Brooklyn.

5. DON'T hit the head pin. You've got to get it in the "pocket".

6. To get a spare you move and keep aiming at the same arrow, your mark.

7. If you yell when you get a strike or a spare you end up with a nickname like "Screamin Demon".

8. I prefer one high five over the crazy, time consuming double fives high and low.

9. My bubble gum, hot pink and black, pricey ball is better than "Dorothy" the house ball.
I have had so much fun. I'm sad that the league is over.
