Jackson

Jackson Wayne Owens was born June 3 around 2:30 in the afternoon.  He was happily greeted by his dad, Jade, his mom, Claire, and his favorite aunt, Aunt Emmy!  He weighed in at 7 pounds 11.6 ounces.  He is a perfect little bundle of joy!

Before Aaden was born, Claire and Jade told me that when they had their next baby I could be in the room with them.  I was so excited!  Just shy of 2 years after I was told that I was watching Jackson come into this world.  This was such an awesome experience for me.  What a miracle!  I am in awe of every mother.

I love, love, love my little bear!  (Okay, he's not technically mine, but he's the closest I can get right now.)

Nerd

I am the biggest nerd around.  I admit it right up front.  Today I found great joy in pulling weeds.  Yikes!  I believe I have just turned into my mother.  I would show you some before and after pictures, but I have not one clue as to where my camera is.  I worked for quite awhile on one of my flower beds with Isabel's (Claire's little girl) help.  I can not tell you the wonderful satisfaction I felt when it was all free from those pesky weeds.

May your life be weed free!

10 Reason (okay just excuses) Why I Haven't Written a Post in FOREVER!

1.  Time
2.  I have little to talk about because little changes in my life.
3.  Time
4.  Bad Attitude (some things are going on in my life and if I write about it, it will just be negative and nobody wants to read that)
5.  Time
6.  Facebook :(  (This one I can barely believe myself.)
7.  Time
8.  Time
9.  Time
10.  Time

As you can see that time seems to be my enemy.  I have been teaching piano lessons for the after school program 4 days a week, I try to keep on top of my student's assignments, and a whole lot of other things that like to occupy my time.  This last week I quit teaching piano and I am going to try to simplify my life.  Hopefully this means that I can go back to writing on my blog and stalking all of yours! ;)

What the!?

This post is going to be full of sentences that start with what the...

1. What the heck have I been doing that I haven't posted since SEPT.!?

I don't really have a good answer for that except that my life seems to get more crammed with stuff every day.

2. What the... or maybe I should say how in the, you know where, does the meanest, beastiest (I know that's not a word) girl I know get engaged and I can't even get a date!?

3. What in the world is going on with my feet?

The bones in my foot are inflamed and so that means that I get to wear 2 boot casts, one on each foot. YIKES!!! I really wish that my feet did not hurt every time that I took a step.

4. What the heck happened to October?

Okay, so that wasn't as many as I thought there would be. Sorry about the little rant in the middle.

BLT

I did the stupidest thing the other day and I just have to share. I picked 3 beautiful, red, juicy tomatoes from my little garden. I decided that I wanted to make myself a BLT for dinner. I went to Smiths and got some Mayo and Lettuce and then I built my "BLT". As I was almost finished I looked down at my sandwich and noticed that I didn't have any lettuce on my BLT. Hence, it was only a BT not a BLT. Tonight I made another BLT and remembered the L and it was much better then the BT!! It makes me think that I just may be heading in the same direction as CRAZY Grandma! ;)

Outside

Here are some pictures of my summer project. My front yard. Here's a couple views from the sidewalk in front of my house.

Now some of my plants, up close and beautiful. (At least they are to me.)
My oak tree. It is small, but I love it.
A beautiful little purple daisy. (I'm not really sure what it's real name is, but I think that it's beautiful.)
A salvia. Which I thought I fried the first week they were in but now they are alive and well.
This is a cool plant called digitalis which I think has a cool looking flower.
Here is one of my flower beds.
Another one. You can see my humming bird feeders next to which are my 3 tomato plants. (P.S. I don't think that I'll be able to eat all of the tomatoes that they are producing. They are loaded with blooms and little growing tomatoes.)
Looking to the right from the front porch.
Looking at the street from the front porch.
It may not look like much to you, however it feels like hundreds of hours of time and tons of sweat and quite a bit of money went into this project.
